For G-Dragon, milestones become one-of-a-kind objects. To mark BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary and their first Coachella performance, the King of K-Pop crystallized the moment in custom diamond in-ear monitors that blur the line between performance technology and high jewelry.
The pieces are edged in pavé diamonds that trace their perimeter, while additional stones assemble into the star’s signature daisy motif and yellow crown — emblems of Peaceminusone and BigBang, the dual mythos that anchor his creative universe. Beneath the surface, iridescent pink and blue mother-of-pearl inlays shimmer with every dance move, transforming utilitarian stage equipment into functional jewelry.
The set joins G-Dragon’s expanding archive of one-of-one creations, including his 209-carat Bandana Royal by Jacob & Co. Each object functions both as an accessory and a timestamp marking his artistic evolution in carats and craft.
King of Korean Rap Grills
Behind the work is Seoul-based jeweler Shin Ye Gwon, also known as David of Korea. Self-taught in decorative dental prosthetics, Gwon operates at the intersection of clinical precision and street luxury, crafting diamond grills and tooth gems for some of Korea’s most visible figures. His work has earned him a reputation as the “King of Korean Rap Grills,” a title that reflects both technical mastery and cultural fluency.
Together, the two kings, Kwon and Gwon, operate in a shared language of excess and refined artistry — where even the smallest performance object becomes part of a larger mythos.
The in-ear set is one of many collaborations between the two, but it stands as one of the most intimate: a piece designed to be heard through and remembered visually.
